Background

Lonny Bernath lives in North Carolina with wife Julie and two wonderful daughters, Abby and Ava. He is currently a manager at IBM while also assisting Julie with her rewarding business venture at Pediatric Advanced Therapy, the largest pediatric therapy clinic in the Carolinas, specializing in occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy.

In his free time, Lonny enjoys coaching soccer for his girls and is an avid but untalented golfer.

History

Lonny was born in Middletown, New York in 1972 and moved to South Florida at an early age. He grew up in North Miami Beach and stayed through college and his first job. It was an interesting place to grow up with beaches outside his door and warm air and sunshine most of the year. So it is a great mystery to his friends why he chose to move to Chicago at the age of 23. Despite their surprise, Lonny enjoyed 4 great years living in Wrigleyville where he met his wife Julie. After one particularly awful snow storm, Lonny convinced his wife that northern Illinois was no longer suitable for a Florida boy.

In 1999, Lonny and Julie moved to Dallas, TX where everything was big....except them. Two years in Texas and their gigantic bugs were plenty for the Bernaths. They moved to Boston, MA when Lonny left his job to return to business school.

After three years back in the frigid north, Lonny, Julie and now Abby headed south again to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they have lived since 2004. Their second daughter, Ava, was born shortly after and they have settled down in the Queen City, hopefully for good.
